The success of Nasty Gal’s Shoe Cult was to be expected; the idea of mixing haute shoes and eclectic-type cool gals gives you a fashion cult everyone wants to be part of. When Nasty Gal thought up the idea to create the Shoe Cult, it was genius. The L.A.-based brand spear headed by style guru Sophia Amoruso, created a capsule collection of on trend footwear in must have heels and booties.
The collection unveiled on August 18, 2013, with heavy anticipation and promotion via our favorite socials, including Instagram and YouTube featuring “It girls” of the moment. Take one featured Wilemina model Natalia Zofia; we loved how she was an unabashed nerd and liked comics books. Another favorite was Michelle Kim, an artist whose built installations and has retro-futuristic style.
This week Nasty Gal released a teaser of the new Shoe Cult collection, along with the crew of social media mavens and style influencers. Some girls include Instagram glam-girl Lua Perez and DJ/designer Va$hti.
The sneak peek campaign was released via YouTube, NastyGaltv and is going viral with 12,696 hits and counting. Connect with the #shoecult via Instagram and the Nasty Gal blog, but for now check out the film below.
